Indonesia Teguh Membela Hak-Hak Palestina di Mahkamah Internasional
SEAToday.com, Bandung - Dalam pernyataan pers tahunan 2024 di Gedung Merdeka, Bandung, Senin (8/1), Menteri Luar Negeri Indonesia, Retno Marsudi menegaskan jika Indonesia konsisten dan akan terus berjuang untuk memperjuangkan hak-hak warga Palestina, termasuk di Mahkamah Internasional.
“Di Mahkamah Internasional, pada 19 Februari yang akan datang mewakili pemerintah Indonesia, saya akan sampaikan pernyataan lisan untuk mendukung Mahkamah memberikan Advisory Opinion memperkuat posisi hukum Palestina, yang intinya, PBB tidak boleh melupakan perjuangan bangsa Palestina, baik secara politik maupun hukum internasional", ujar Menlu.
Selain itu, Retno Marsudi juga menyoroti ketidakmampuan Dewan Keamanan PBB untuk menghentikan genosida yang berlangsung di Gaza.
Sebelumnya pada 29 Desember 2023 lalu, Afrika Selatan menuntut Israel ke Mahkamah Internasional karena melakukan genosida di Gaza. Gugatan ini merupakan langkah hukum pertama di mahkamah Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa (PBB) sejak krisis kemanusiaan di Gaza, 7 Oktober 2023 lalu.
