Indonesia Signs Collaboration with Singapore in Bidding for FIFA U-17, U-20 World Cup 2025
SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) agreed to bid together to host the U-20 or U-17 World Cup starting with the 2025 edition. In an official statement, Monday (12/4), the FAS said a statement letter signed with the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) had been sent to FIFA.
This step was taken after Indonesia was declared by FIFA to have successfully hosted the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2023 which ended Saturday (12/2). PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir assessed, this plan is in line with the commitment to foster young players as the foundation of a strong national team future.
Previously, President Joko Widodo asked PSSI and the Ministry of Youth and Sports to explore organizing the U-20 World Cup in 2025 and U-17 for 2025-2029 by bidding with Singapore.
