COVID-19 di Singapura Mencapai 22.094 Kasus dalam Sepekan

SEAToday.com, Singapura - Kementerian Kesehatan (Kemenkes) Singapura mencatat peningkatan kasus COVID-19 mencapai 22.094 kasus yang teridentifikasi sejak 19 November hingga 25 November 2023. Jumlah kasus ini mengalami peningkatan dua kali lipat dari yang sebelumnya berjumlah 10.726 kasus.
Kemenkes Singapura menjelaskan, ada beberapa faktor yang menyebabkan terjadinya peningkatan kasus secara signifikan, salah satunya adalah kekebalan imunitas penduduk yang mulai menurun. Untuk itu, masyarakat dihimbau untuk segera melanjutkan vaksinasi booster, khususnya mereka yang menerima vaksin booster terakhir enam bulan atau satu tahun lalu. Selain itu, masyarakat juga dihimbau untuk selalu mengikuti perkembangan vaksinasi COVID-19 yang disediakan.
Kemenkes Singapura mengatakan, jenis varian yang mendominasi dari keseluruhan kasus adalah varian Eris atau EG.5 dan sub-garis keturunannya yaitu HK.3. Keduanya ditemukan lebih dari 70 persen pada kasus COVID-19 di Singapura. Meski jumlah kasus meroket dalam waktu satu pekan, angka rawat inap akibat COVID-19 masih cenderung stabil dan tidak ada lonjakan.
