Lionel Messi to be Immortalized as Name of an Argentine City
SEAToday, Santa Fe - Lionel Messi's name has been nominated as the name of a city in Argentina. This step is a form of recognition for the legendary footballer Lionel Messi's contribution to Argentine football, especially since Messi managed to bring home the World Cup after beating France last year. The person who proposed Messi's name was a resident of Barrio Rafael, but this renaming must first be approved by the Argentine City Council.
The name "Lionel Messi" will replace the name of the area "Barrio 42", a newly created area in the city of Santa Fe, in April 2023, which has 315 housing lots. In addition to Messi's name, there are several proposals that have also been submitted to replace the street name Barrio 42. The other nominations are "Mi Tierra", "Mi Casa", "Ara San Juan", "Doctor Favaloro", and "Las Colonias".
