Seorang WNI Meninggal Dunia akibat Kerusuhan di Bangladesh

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Seorang Warga Negara Indonesia (WNI) meninggal dunia akibat kerusuhan yang terjadi di Bangladesh. Kementerian Luar Negeri (Kemlu) menyampaikan kabar ini melalui sebuah pernyataan resmi.

"KBRI Dhaka menerima informasi mengenai WNI a.n. DU yang meninggal dunia di Jashore, Bangladesh pada 5 Agustus 2024," demikian bunyi keterangan dikutip dari laman Kemlu.

"DU meninggal dunia akibat menghirup terlalu banyak asap karena hotel tempat almarhum menginap terbakar di tengah-tengah kerusuhan. DU baru saja tiba di Bangladesh tanggal 1 Agustus 2024 untuk kunjungan bisnis," lanjut pernyataan tersebut.

Disampaikan pula bahwa pihak Kemlu telah menghubungi keluarga almarhum di Indonesia untuk menyampaikan ucapan belasungkawa dan akan memfasilitasi repatrasi jenazah, bekerja sama dengan perusahaan tempat almarhum bekerja.

Selain itu, Kemlu juga mengimbau WNI terkait situasi keamanan di Bangladesh. "Kemlu dan KBRI Dhaka kembali sampaikan imbauan agar para WNI meningkatkan kewaspadaan, menghindari kerumunan massa dan lokasi demonstrasi dan mengikuti langkah-langkah kontingensi yang diarahkan KBRI Dhaka," terang pihaknya.

Bagi WNI yang memiliki rencana perjalanan ke Bangladesh, diimbau untuk menunda perjalanan ke Bangladesh, sampai situasi dan kondisi keamanan membaik.

Dalam kondisi darurat, segera laporkan kondisi kepada otoritas keamanan setempat dan hotline KBRI Dhaka.
