Army, Navy and Air Forces Troop Parade Celebrates the 79th Anniversary of the Indonesian Armed Forces

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The commemoration ceremony of the 79th anniversary of the Indonesian Armed Forces concluded with a series of parades featuring troops and military equipment from the Army, Navy, and Air Force. The parade was commanded by Air Vice Marshal Mohammad Nurdin. Below are the highlights of the troop parade that took place at the Silang Monas Field, Central Jakarta.

Cavalry Detachment

The Cavalry Detachment showcased 55 mounted troops carrying the emblem of the Indonesian Armed Forces and units from the Army, Navy, and Air Force. Some troops also performed demonstrations of combat against enemies using weapons such as swords and bows.

Indonesian Armed Forces Cadet Drum Corps

Following the Cavalry Detachment was the Drum Corps from the Indonesian Armed Forces Army, Navy, and Air Force. The drum corps paid tribute to President Jokowi. This unit has frequently performed both domestically and internationally, achieving commendable accomplishments.

Military Police

Hundreds of Military Police troops participated in the parade. Their role is to assist the Chief of the Indonesian Armed Forces in Policy-making, performing police functions within the military, and supporting the primary duties of the Indonesian Armed Forces.

Military Academy Cadets

Next, the military Academy Cadets marched in the parade. The cadets from the Army, Navy, and Air Force are the future generation of the Indonesian Armed Forces.

Indonesian Armed Forces Women’s Corps

A combined unit of the Women’s Corps from the Army, Navy, and Air Force participated in the parade. The heroines from the three branches of the Indonesian Armed Forces are skilled soldiers supporting a strong defense for an advanced Indonesia.

Indonesian Army Troops

Several Indonesian Army troops participated in the parade, starting with the Special Forces (Kopassus), which is part of the Indonesian Army's main command and possesses counter-terrorism capabilities. This was followed by the Army Strategic Command (Kostrad) and then the Mechanized Infantry Battalion, equipped with armored vehicles for combat.

Indonesian Navy Troops

The Indonesian Navy troops consisted of the Navy Fleet Command (Koarmada), which conducts defense operations at sea in accordance with the Chief of the Indonesian Armed Forces’ policies. There were also troops from the Indonesian Navy’s Marine Corps (Kolinlamil), responsible for training the naval military and supporting national development. Additionally, the Marine Corps maintains national defense and conducts military operations at sea and along the coast.

Indonesian Air Force Troops

The Indonesian Air Force troops included Air Crews who serve as pilots for fighter aircraft, transport planes, helicopters. There were also the Air Force Special Forces (Kopasgat), who protect the nation’s defense from the air and land. The Indonesian Air Force follows the principle of Swa Bhuwana Paksa, which is both a teaching and a symbol of the Air Force. The values of the Air force are manifested in the emblem of Swa Bhuwana Paksa, which symbolizes the wings of the Indonesian homeland. This emblem indicates that the Indonesian Air Force is a shield protecting all sovereign territories of Indonesia, elevating the dignity of the nation, and is committed to developing it into a strong Indonesia in the air.

Indonesian Army, Navy, and Air Force Reserve Components

The parade concluded with the Reserve components of the Indonesian Army, Navy, and Air Force. After the troop parade, the event continued with a display of military equipment from the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
