Kontribusi Penyandang Disabilitas di Indonesia Diapresiasi PBB
SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Perjalanan para penyandang disabilitas Indonesia mendapat apresiasi dari Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa (PBB). Hal itu ditunjukkan lewat acara pekan kreatif untuk penyandang disabilitas pada 6-10 Desember.
Koordinator Residen PBB di Indonesia Valerie Julliand menyebut para penyandang disabilitas telah banyak berkontribusi di berbagai bidang. Akan tetapi, mereka tetap mendapat stigma dari masyarakat.
“Melalui cerita yang menarik, dan solusi inovatif, kolaborasi ini menghormati para seniman tersebut dan mendorong masyarakat meninjau ulang prasangka serta bekerja menuju masa depan yang inklusif dan memberdayakan,” kata Julliand dikutip dari Antara.
Pekan Kreatif untuk Penyandang Disabilitas berlangsung di Bloc Bar 2 M Bloc Jakarta. Moto acara ini adalah “Kita bisa! Kita mampu! Kita sama!.
