Israel Sahkan UU yang Larang Badan PBB untuk Pengungsi Palestina UNRWA

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Parlemen Israel mengesahkan undang-undang yang melarang Badan PBB untuk Pengungsi Palestina (UNRWA) untuk beroperasi di wilayah dan daerah-daerah yang berada di bawah kendali Israel.
Dilansir Al Jazeera, undang-undang tersebut berisiko meruntuhkan proses distribusi bantuan di saat krisis kemanusiaan di Gaza kian memburuk. Di sisi lain, Israel berada di bawah tekanan yang semakin besar untuk mengizinkan masuknya pasokan bantuan.
Larangan itu akan menyebabkan penutupan kantor UNRWA di wilayah Palestina yang diduduki, yakni Tepi Barat, termasuk Yerusalem Timur yang diduduki dan Gaza. Hal ini juga secara efektif akan melumpuhkan kemampuan badan tersebut untuk memenuhi mandatnya yang ditetapkan oleh Majelis Umum PBB pada 1949.
UNRWA adalah badan utama yang menjalankan bantuan kemanusiaan di Gaza, yang telah hancur akibat lebih dari satu tahun perang Israel. Ratusan pekerja UNRWA telah terbunuh dalam serangan Israel.
Anggota parlemen meloloskan RUU tersebut dengan pereolehan suara 92-10 dan diikuti dengan perdebatan sengit antara pendukung dan penentang undang-undang tersebut, terutama dari partai-partai parlemen Arab.
Kepala UNRWA Philippe Lazzarini mengatakan bahwa larangan tersebut merupakan "preseden yang berbahaya" dan "hanya akan memperdalam penderitaan warga Palestina."
"Ini adalah yang terbaru dari kampanye yang sedang berlangsung untuk mendiskreditkan UNRWA. RUU ini hanya akan memperdalam penderitaan warga Palestina," tulis Philippe Lazzarini di X.
