Banjir Bandang Melanda Ternate, 13 Orang Tewas

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Banjir bandang melanda Kelurahan Rua, Kecamatan Pulau Ternate, Maluku Utara. Peristiwa ini diakibatkan hujan berintensitas tinggi yang mengguyur wilayah Kota Ternate, Minggu, 25 Agustus 2024 pukul 03.30 WIT.

Dikutip dari laman resmi Badan Nasional Penanggulangan Bencana (BNPB), bencana ini mengakibatkan 13 orang meninggal dunia, dua orang mengalami luka-luka, dan jumlah korban terdampak masih dalam proses pendataan.

Menurut laporan yang diterima oleh BNPB, banjir ini juga menyebabkan kerusakan material dengan 10 unit rumah rusak berat (RB). Hingga kini, upaya penanganan di lokasi bencana terus dilakukan.

Tim Reaksi Cepat (TRC) BPBD Kota Ternate bersama instansi terkait telah dikerahkan untuk mengevakuasi korban dan kaji cepat dampak bencana. BPBD Provinsi Maluku Utara juga telah berkoordinasi dengan BPBD Kota Ternate guna mempercepat penanganan di lapangan.

Kebutuhan mendesak di lokasi terdampak meliputi tenda pengungsi, light tower, selimut, matras, terpal, kasur lipat, dan sembako. Tim di lapangan juga sedang mendata lebih lanjut untuk memastikan jumlah korban terdampak dan kerusakan yang terjadi.

Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi, dan Geofisika (BMKG) memperkirakan bahwa potensi hujan dengan intensitas tinggi masih mungkin terjadi di wilayah Kota Ternate dan sekitarnya dalam beberapa hari ke depan. Masyarakat diimbau untuk tetap waspada dan mengikuti arahan dari pihak berwenang terkait potensi banjir susulan.
