Menlu RI Retno Marsudi Dapat Penghargaan dari Negara-negara Arab karena Konsisten Dukung Palestina

SEAToday.com, Jakarta – Menteri Luar Negeri (Menlu) RI Retno Marsudi mengadakan pertemuan dengan para Duta Besar dan perwakilan Negara-negara Arab untuk Indonesia di Kantor Kementerian Luar Negeri (Kemenlu) Jakarta Pusat pada Selasa 2 April 2024 lalu.
Pertemuan Menlu RI dengan perwakilan negara-negara Arab dihadiri oleh tujuh Duta Besar, yaitu dari Palestina, Yordania, Arab Saudi, Aljazair, Suriah, Oman, dan Mesir; serta 13 perwakilan dari kedutaan besar yakni: Bahrain, Mauritania, Yaman, Libanon, PEA, Irak, Libia, Qatar, Kuwait, Tunisia, Sudan, Somalia, dan Maroko.
Mengutip dari situs Kemenlu dalam agenda pertemuan yang berlangsung sekitar 1 jam, banyak hal yang dibicarakan salah satunya membahas perkembangan Palestina termasuk kondisi di Gaza yang semakin memprihatinkan.
Para Duta Besar memberikan pujian kepada Retno karena sebagai Menlu sangat konsisten dalam membela Palestina. Bahkan penghargaan diberikan secara langsung kepada Retno oleh Duta Besar Palestina untuk Indonesia, Zuhair S.M AlShun.
“Seluruh rakyat Indonesia terlibat dalam mendukung perjuangan Palestina. Saya hargai keaktifan Anda di berbagai organisasi internasional dalam memperjuangkan Palestina," kata Zuhair.
Menlu Retno menegaskan posisi Indonesia dalam mendukung perjuangan bangsa Palestina dan mendukung Palestina terlebih dalam kondisi sulit seperti sekarang. Indonesia terus ikut andil dalam usaha gencatan senjata di Gaza.
“Indonesia menyambut baik resolusi tersebut. Namun demikian kita semua memiliki tanggung jawab besar untuk memastikan resolusi tersebut dapat diimplementasikan dan dihormati oleh Israel,” ujar Retno dalam pertemuan itu.
Retno menambahkan jika Indonesia terus konsisten mendukung keanggotaan penuh Palestina di PBB dan mengajak para Duta Besar agar negaranya melakukan hal yang sama. Tak lupa Retno juga mengecam segala serangan Israel atas gedung dan fasilitas diplomatik Iran di Damaskus beberapa waktu lalu. Serangan yang dilakukan Israel ke fasilitas diplomatik tersebut dianggap melanggar hukum internasional karena tempat tersebut harus dilindungi.
