Bom Seberat 1 Ton Kiriman AS yang Sempat Tertunda di Era Biden Akhirnya Tiba di Israel

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Setelah sempat tertunda di masa pemerintahan Presiden Joe Biden, pengiriman bom berat buatan Amerika Serikat akhirnya sampai di Israel, seperti dilaporkan oleh Sputnik.

Sebuah kapal yang membawa bom MK-84 seberat hampir 1 ton telah menurunkan muatannya di Pelabuhan Ashdod. Puluhan truk kemudian mengangkut bom tersebut menuju berbagai pangkalan udara Israel.

"Bom ini, yang dikirim oleh pemerintahan Presiden (Donald) Trump dan tiba di Israel malam ini, adalah aset penting bagi Angkatan Udara serta IDF (militer Israel). Ini juga menjadi bukti semakin eratnya hubungan antara Israel dan Amerika Serikat," ujar Menteri Pertahanan Israel, Israel Katz.

Pengiriman bom ini sebelumnya ditunda oleh pemerintahan Biden pada akhir Mei 2024, di tengah serangan darat Israel ke Kota Rafah, Gaza Selatan.

Sejak konflik Israel-Palestina di Jalur Gaza pecah pada Oktober 2023, Kementerian Pertahanan Israel mencatat bahwa lebih dari 76.000 ton peralatan militer telah diterima Israel. Peralatan ini dikirim melalui 678 pesawat angkut dan 129 kapal, dengan sebagian besar bantuan berasal dari AS.

Penggunaan bom berat oleh Israel sebelumnya dikaitkan dengan serangan terhadap Rumah Sakit Baptis Al Ahli di Gaza pada Oktober 2023, yang menewaskan lebih dari 470 orang.

Saat ini, gencatan senjata antara Israel dan kelompok Hamas telah diberlakukan di Gaza sejak 19 Januari, menghentikan perang yang telah merenggut lebih dari 48.200 nyawa warga Palestina.
