Amerika Serikat Hapus Utang Indonesia Senilai Rp565 M dengan Konservasi Terumbu Karang
SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Amerika Serikat menghapus utang Indonesia sebesar 35 juta dolar Amerika atau sekitar 565,53 miliar rupiah dengan mengganti upaya konservasi terumbu karang. Kesepakatan ini dipertegas usai Menteri Keuangan Sri Mulyani bertemu asisten Menteri AS Alexia Latortue, Kamis (11/7).
Dalam unggahannya di Instagram, Jumat (12/7), Menteri Sri Mulyani (@smindrawati) mengungkapkan bahwa Amerika Serikat setuju untuk melakukan Debt Swap to Marine Conservation Reservation Agreement bagi Indonesia. Hal ini bertujuan untuk memperkuat dan menjaga kelestarian Laut dan Coral yang dilakukan Indonesia melalui berbagai inisiatif.
Berdasarkan keterangan di situs resmi Kedutaan Besar AS untuk Indonesia, perjanjian tukar utang ini sudah diteken sejak Rabu (3/7). Kuasa Usaha ad Interim (KUAI) Kedubes AS untuk Indonesia Michael Kleine menjelaskan, perjanjian ini menjadi bukti kuatnya hubungan bilateral AS dan Indonesia dalam kemitraan strategis.
