Jepang Menyelenggarakan Piala Dunia Pungut Sampah Pertama di Dunia
SEAToday.com, Tokyo - Jepang menggelar Piala Dunia Pungut Sampah pertama di dunia yang disebut dengan “SPOGOMI”, di Tokyo, Rabu (22/11). Nama “SPOGOMI” sendiri adalah kombinasi kata dalam bahasa Inggris, "sport" yang berarti olahraga dan bahasa Jepang "gomi" yang berarti sampah.
Sebanyak 21 negara di dunia turut serta dalam perlombaan tersebut, mulai dari Amerika Serikat, Australia, Prancis, hingga Indonesia. Masing-masing dikelompokkan dalam tim yang terdiri dari tiga pemain. Mereka membersihkan sampah di distrik Shibuya dan Omotesando selama 90 menit dalam dua sesi. Pemenangnya ditentukan berdasarkan jumlah dan jenis sampah yang diambil.
Tim Inggris berhasil keluar menjadi pemenang setelah memperoleh 9.046,1 poin usai mengumpulkan 57,27 kilogram sampah, disusul tim Jepang dan Italia. Rencananya, SPOGOMI kedua akan digelar di Tokyo pada 2025 mendatang.
