Pemerintah Akan Wajibkan PLN Beli Listrik dari Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Sampah
SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Rancangan Undang-Undang (RUU) Energi Baru dan Terbarukan tengah dibahas oleh Menteri ESDM Arifin Tasrif bersama Komisi IV DPR RI. Dalam kesempatan tersebut, RUU Energi Baru dan Terbarukan juga akan membahas salah satu poin penting, yaitu Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Sampah.
Menteri Arifin menuturkan, pemerintah kelak akan mewajibkan PT PLN (Pesero) membeli listrik yang dihasilkan dari PLT Sampah. Mekanismenya akan diatur oleh pemerintah. Terkait formula tarif listrik dari pembangkit listrik tenaga sampah juga akan diatur kemudian oleh Menteri ESDM.
Proses pengelolaan sampah sampai menjadi tenaga listrik ini, bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesehatan masyarakat dan kualitas lingkungan serta memanfaatkan sampah sebagai sumber energi. Program ini juga termasuk dalam penerapan co-firing pembangkit listrik tenaga uap (PLTU) batu bara dengan menggunakan limbah.
