IFJ Ancam Ambil Tindakan Hukum Terhadap Pemimpin Israel Terkait Keselamatan Jurnalis

SEAToday.com, Gaza - Federasi Jurnalis Internasional (IFJ) pada Sabtu (27/1) menyatakan bahwa mereka akan membawa politisi dan pemimpin militer Israel ke pengadilan internasional jika mereka tidak berkomitmen untuk menghormati perintah Mahkamah Internasional (ICJ) terkait penargetan jurnalis.
Dalam pernyataan yang ditujukan kepada Perdana Menteri Israel Benjamin Netanyahu dan Menteri Pertahanan Yoav Gallant, Presiden IFJ Dominique Pradalié dan Sekretaris Jenderal Anthony Bellanger mengecam pembunuhan jurnalis di Gaza, yang jumlah korbannya mencapai 10% dari jumlah jurnalis di daerah tersebut. Mereka juga menyinggung laporan akan akses IDF ke sistem penargetan yang "sangat canggih", dan menilai bahwa keputusan untuk "menargetkan pekerja media, keluarga dan rumah mereka" dibuat secara individual.
Surat tersebut menekankan hukum internasional yang mewajibkan negara untuk melindungi warga sipil, termasuk jurnalis. Selain itu, mereka juga meminta para pemimpin Israel untuk berkomitmen dan mempublikasikan kebijakan serta prosedur khusus yang memastikan militer mematuhi aturan tersebut.
