SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI) menetapkan hukum haram bagi masyarakat yang memilih golongan putih (golput) saat pemilu, Sabtu (16/12). Ketua MUI Pusat Bidang Dakwah dan Ukhuwah Cholil Nafis mengatakan, hal tersebut merujuk pada fatwa yang pernah dikeluarkan MUI sebelumnya terkait kewajiban memilih pemimpin.
Cholil mengatakan, masyarakat yang tidak menggunakan hak pilihnya disebut tidak bertanggung jawab terhadap jalannya bangsa. Untuk itu, ia berharap masyarakat dapat memilih satu dari tiga pasangan calon presiden dan wakil presiden yang dinilai ideal untuk memimpin Indonesia ke depan pada pemilu 2024 mendatang.
