Samer Abudaqa dari Al Jazeera yang Tewas dalam Serangan Israel Menambah Daftar Panjang Jurnalis yang Tewas di Gaza
SEAToday.com, Gaza - Samer Abudaqa, juru kamera Al Jazeera meninggal dunia setelah terluka parah dalam serangan Israel di Gaza selatan, Jumat (15/12).
Laporan menyebutkan bahwa Abudaqa terluka di dekat sebuah sekolah di Khan Younis. Paramedis tidak dapat menjangkaunya selama berjam-jam karena penembakan hebat oleh pasukan Israel di kota tersebut. Upaya penyelamatan yang aman bagi Abudaqa memakan waktu lebih dari lima jam. Ketika paramedis akhirnya tiba, sang jurnalis telah meninggal dunia.
Kepala biro Al Jazeera di Gaza, Wael Dahdouh, juga terluka dalam serangan tersebut. Ia terkena pecahan peluru di lengan atasnya, dan dilarikan ke Rumah Sakit Nasser.
Menurut investigasi awal yang dilakukan oleh Komite untuk Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), hingga 15 Desember, setidaknya 64 jurnalis telah terbunuh di Gaza sejak 7 Oktober. Sebagian besar jurnalis yang terbunuh adalah warga Palestina.
