SEAToday.com, Aceh - Sebanyak 50 pencari suaka asal Rohingya kembali tiba di Desa Seuneubok Baroh, Kecamatan Darul Aman, Kabupaten Aceh Timur pada Kamis (14/12).
Kapolres Aceh Timur AKBP Andy Rahmansyah mengatakan bahwa informasi yang diterima menyebutkan bahwa setelah turun dari kapal di Pantai Kuala Idi Cut, mereka lari dan bersembunyi di semak hingga akhirnya ditemukan. Ia juga menyebutkan bahwa pada awalnya hanya ditemukan 43 orang, hingga dilakukan penyisiran kembali dan ditemukan 7 orang lainnya. 50 orang pencari suaka ini semua laki-laki. Para petugas kemudian mengamankan mereka di Tempat Pelelangan Ikan (TPI) Idi Cut.
Belum diketahui rencana pemerintah daerah dalam menangani para pencari suaka ini. Sebelumnya, pemerintah telah menyatakan bahwa mereka mendesak pihak UNHCR dan lembaga internasional terkait untuk mengeluarkan kebijakan akan keadaan ini.
Hingga saat ini pencari suaka asal Rohingya di Aceh mencapai 1.734 orang yang ditampung di sejumlah lokasi di provinsi tersebut.
