Indonesia Menandatangani Kerja Sama dengan Singapura dalam Penawaran Piala Dunia FIFA U-17 dan U-20 2025
SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Asosiasi Sepak Bola Singapura (FAS) sepakat melakukan bidding bersama tuan rumah Piala Dunia U-20 atau U-17 mulai edisi 2025. Dalam keterangan resmi, Senin (4/12), pihak FAS mengatakan surat pernyataan yang ditandatangani bersama Persatuan Sepak Bola Seluruh Indonesia (PSSI) sudah dikirim ke FIFA.
Langkah ini diambil setelah FIFA mengatakan Indonesia sukses menjadi tuan rumah Piala Dunia U-17 FIFA 2023 yang berakhir, Sabtu (2/12). Lebih lanjut, Ketua Umum PSSI Erick Thohir menilai, rencana ini sejalan dengan komitmen untuk membina pemain usia muda sebagai fondasi masa depan timnas yang kuat.
Sebelumnya, Presiden Joko Widodo meminta PSSI dan Kementerian Pemuda dan Olahraga untuk menjajaki penyelenggaraan Piala Dunia U-20 di tahun 2025 dan U-17 untuk tahun 2025-2029 dengan bidding bersama Singapura.
