SEAToday.com, Nusantara - PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will move his office to IKN Nusantara in September.

He said that Jokowi will move to IKN when Nusantara Airport is operational. If the airport operates in early September, then Jokowi will immediately move.

“As far as I know, the President's program is that if the airport operates in the first week of September, he will move there,” Basuki said.

Basuki emphasized that the facilities used by Jokowi are fully prepared. This includes the Presidential Office to Jokowi's residence at the IKN State Palace.

The Nusantara Airport's own 2,200-meter runway construction will be completed on September 2, 2024.

He is optimistic that the target can be achieved if the weather in IKN is conducive and it does not rain.

“We will start checking this runway on Sunday (25/8), 1,100 meters (finished paving). So, maybe if the target is 2,200 meters, count yes, if there is no rain, 2,200 meters by September 2 (completed),” said Basuki.

After the runway construction is completed, the installation of lights along other roads will be carried out immediately afterwards.

“The runway is finished, then in 2 days all the lights will be installed, so that it can be utilized in the first week,” continued Basuki.
