SEAToday.com, Hanoi – Ibu kota Vietnam, Hanoi, telah terbalut kabut asap tebal selama beberapa minggu terakhir, menjadikannya kota dengan polusi udara tertinggi di dunia. Pemerintah Vietnam mengungkapkan rencana untuk mendorong penggunaan kendaraan listrik (EV) lebih banyak guna mengatasi masalah polusi ini.

Pada Jumat (3/1), tingkat partikel berbahaya PM2.5 di Hanoi tercatat mencapai 266 mikrogram per meter kubik, angka tertinggi di antara kota-kota yang tercemar, menurut laporan AirVisual.

Vietnam, sebagai pusat manufaktur regional di Asia Tenggara dengan ekonomi yang berkembang pesat, telah lama menghadapi masalah polusi udara di kota-kota besar, terutama di Hanoi.

Kabut asap ini sebagian besar disebabkan oleh kemacetan lalu lintas, pembakaran sampah, dan aktivitas industri. "Kami, para lansia, merasakannya dengan sangat jelas, terutama gangguan pernapasan yang membuat sulit untuk bernapas," kata Luu Minh Duc, seorang warga berusia 64 tahun. "Keadaan semakin buruk belakangan ini."

Untuk mengatasi masalah ini, Hanoi telah menetapkan target ambisius, dengan rencana agar 50% bus dan 100% taksi di kota tersebut beralih menggunakan kendaraan listrik pada tahun 2030.

“Ini adalah tanggung jawab negara terhadap rakyat, dan tindakan yang spesifik serta tepat waktu harus segera diambil,” kata Ha, seperti dilaporkan oleh surat kabar Tien Phong.
