SEAToday.com, Jakarta - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) menyiapkan 739.782 tempat duduk guna mengantisipasi peningkatan penumpang pada libur panjang periode 8-12 Mei. KAI mengoperasikan 1.509 kereta api yang terdiri dari 1.101 KA jarak jauh dan 408 KA lokal.
Dalam pernyataan tertulisnya, Selasa (7/5), VP Public Relations KAI Joni Martinus mengatakan, peningkatan jumlah perjalanan KA ini merupakan bagian dari komitmen KAI untuk meningkatkan pelayanan kepada pelanggan, terutama pada masa liburan ini.
Adapun rute favorit masyarakat pada periode libur panjang Kenaikan Isa Almasih pekan ini di antaranya Jakarta-Surabaya (PP), Jakarta-Solo (PP), Jakarta-Malang (PP), Yogyakarta-Banyuwangi (PP), dan Blitar-Bandung (PP). Joni memastikan bahwa KAI akan melayani masyarakat dengan aman dan bebas macet di jalan raya selama libur panjang ini. (DHITA/ DKD)
