Brunergy Umumkan Pembangunan Kereta Cepat Trans-Borneo yang Hubungkan Indonesia, Malaysia, dan Brunei
SEAToday.com, Brunei Darussalam - Perusahaan infrastruktur asal Brunei Darussalam, Brunergy Utama Sdn. Bhd., mengumumkan akan menggarap proyek Kereta Cepat Trans-Borneo (TBR) yang melintasi tiga negara, yaitu Indonesia (Kalimantan), Malaysia (Sarawak dan Sabah), serta Brunei.
Menurut laman resmi Brunergy, kecepatan BTR akan berkisar antara 300-350 km/jam dengan jarak rata-rata antarstasiun sekitar 150 km, dan perkiraan waktu tempuh rata-rata antarstasiun diklaim hanya 30 menit.
Proyek TBR ini direncanakan akan dibangun dalam dua tahap. Tahap pertama akan menghubungkan kota-kota berfokus ekonomi dari pantai Barat ke pantai Timur dengan stasiun yang berlokasi di Pontianak, Mempawah, Singkawang, Sambas (Kalimantan Barat, Indonesia), Kuching, Sri Aman, Sibu, Bintulu, Miri (Sarawak, Malaysia Timur), Bukit Panggal (Brunei Darussalam), Limbang (Sarawak, Malaysia Timur), Bangar (Brunei Darussalam), Lawas (Sarawak, Malaysia Timur), Sipitang, Beaufort, Kimanis, Kota Kinabalu (Sabah, Malaysia Timur).
Sedangkan tahap kedua akan menjangkau stasiun di Bukit Panggal (Brunei Darussalam), Long Seridan (Sarawak, Malaysia Timur), Bekalalan, Malinau, Tanjung Selor (Kalimantan Utara, Indonesia), Tanjungredeb, Pengadan, Lubuk Tutung, Bontang, Samarinda, Balikpapan (Kalimantan Timur, Indonesia).
Kedua rute tersebut memiliki empat terminal di Pontianak (Kalimantan Barat, Indonesia), Kuching (Sarawak, Malaysia Timur), Bukit Panggal (Brunei Darussalam), dan Kota Kinabalu (Sabah, Malaysia Timur). Nantinya, kedua rute akan menjumpai titik temu di distrik Tutong, Brunei, yang berfungsi sebagai pusat hub untuk kereta api.
