Mark Zuckerberg Meminta Maaf Kepada Para Orang Tua di Audiensi Senat
SEAToday.com, Washington - CEO Meta, Mark Zuckerberg meminta maaf kepada para orang tua yang hadir dalam sidang dengar pendapat Senat Amerika Serikat bertajuk “Big Tech and the Online Child Sexual Exploitation Crisis", Rabu (31/1) waktu setempat.
Para orang tua yang hadir dalam forum tersebut turut membawa foto anak mereka. Mereka menyebutkan anak-anaknya telah menjadi korban media sosial. Anak-anak tersebut melukai diri sendiri bahkan bunuh diri akibat konten di media sosial.
Permintaan maaf tersebut disampaikan setelah ia dicecar oleh Senator Josh Hawley. "Saya minta maaf atas semua yang telah Anda alami, ini sangat menyedihkan. Tidak seorang pun boleh mengalami hal-hal yang telah dialami keluarga Anda..." ujar Zuckerberg.
Selain Zuckerberg, CEO TikTok Shou Zi Chew, serta petinggi media sosial Snap, X dan Discord juga hadir dalam forum tersebut.
Kongres AS saat ini sedang menyusun regulasi yang mewajibkan perusahaan media sosial bertanggung jawab atas konten yang diunggah ke platform mereka.
