SEAToday.com, Juba - The United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) on Wednesday (1/31) honored 33 Indonesian Police personnel who served as Individual Police Officers (IPO). The award was received by the Head of International Relations Division Police Inspector General Krisna Murti at Payam UN House, Juba, South Sudan, witnessed by the Senior Liaison Officer of Indonesia's representative to the UN.

During the event, UNMISS UNPOL Commissioner Christine Fossen appreciated the performance of Polri personnel on the mission. "All Indonesian UNPOL at UNMISS have made a tangible contribution," she said.

Forsen assessed that UNPOL Indonesia's achievements were quite crucial, especially in the operational field, mainly during the UNMISS preparation in supporting elections held by the South Sudan government. UNPOL Indonesia also achieved achievements in outside the field such as mission operations planning, local police capacity building, and human resource management.
