SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Kapolda Jawa Barat Irjen Pol Akhmad Wiyagus mengatakan 17 unit kendaraan terlibat kecelakaan di KM 92B Tol Cipularang, Kabupaten Purwakarta, Jawa Barat, Senin, 11 November 2024. Akibat tabrakan ini, satu orang dinyatakan korban meninggal dunia.

Ia menjelaskan Direktur Lalu Lintas Polda Jawa Barat telah mengecek ke lokasi kecelakaan. Selain satu orang korban meninggal dunia, dia menyebut ada delapan orang korban mengalami luka-luka.

"Jumlah korban satu meninggal dunia, kemudian delapan luka, tapi nanti terus akan dicek," kata Akhmad Wiyagus usai mengikuti rapat kerja Polri dengan Komisi III DPR RI di Kompleks Parlemen, Jakarta, Senin, 11 November 2024 petang, dilansir Antara.

Setelah mengikuti rapat di DPR RI, dia mengaku akan langsung berangkat menuju lokasi kecelakaan untuk mengecek secara langsung kondisi lokasi. Adapun lokasi kecelakaan itu memang merupakan wilayah rawan.

Sebelumnya, Kepolisian Daerah (Polda) Jawa Barat mengungkapkan tabrakan beruntun di Tol Cipularang Kilometer 92, Kabupaten Purwakarta diduga dipicu truk bermuatan berat yang mengalami rem blong sehingga menabrak lebih dari lima kendaraan di depannya. Kecelakaan itu terjadi sekitar pukul 15.30 WIB.

"Rem blong karena bermuatan cukup banyak, cukup berat, sehingga menabrak kendaraan yang ada di depannya," kata Kabid Humas Polda Jawa Barat Kombes Pol Jules Abraham Abast di Bandung.

Kombes Jules mengatakan bahwa Polda Jabar telah menurunkan sekitar 10 personel untuk melakukan penanganan di lokasi kejadian. Mereka terdiri atas petugas Korlantas Polri, PJR Polda Jabar, dan personel Satlantas Purwakarta.
