SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Pemerintah resmi mengatur kebijakan penanganan, pemanfaatan, dan perdagangan tanaman kratom.
Langkah ini diambil setelah rapat internal bersama Presiden Joko Widodo pada 20 Juni, tertuang dalam sebuah Peraturan Menteri Perdagangan yang ditetapkan pada 26 Agustus dan mulai berlaku 30 hari setelah diundangkan pada 29 Agustus 2024.
Direktur Jenderal Perdagangan Luar Negeri Isy Karim mengungkapkan, peraturan ini akan memberlakukan standar ekspor pada komoditas kratom. Hal ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan nilai tambah dan keberterimaan produk ekspor Indonesia.
Lebih lanjut, Isy menambahkan bahwa peraturan tata niaga kratom ini difokuskan untuk ekspor, bukan penggunaan dalam negeri. Pengaturan ini juga bertujuan untuk mencegah penyalahgunaan kratom.
