Jokowi Canangkan Hutan Pendidikan Wanagama Nusantara di IKN

SEAToday.com, Nusantara - Presiden Joko Widodo (Jokowi) mencanangkan hutan pendidikan dan penelitian Wanagama Nusantara di Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN), Kalimantan Timur, Jumat (13/9/2024).

Pencanangan ini merupakan bagian dari upaya pemerintah untuk memperkuat kelestarian lingkungan dan pendidikan berkelanjutan di Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN).

Wanagama merupakan hutan pendidikan yang dikelola oleh Fakultas Kehutanan Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM).

Dilansir dari laman Setkab RI, Rektor Universitas Gadjah Mada Prof. dr. Ova Emilia mengatakan bahwa Wanagama Nusantara merupakan bagian dari strategi besar pengelolaan hutan dan restorasi yang diterapkan di Kalimantan.

Berdasarkan data UGM, Wanagama Nusantara memiliki luas 621 hektare, dengan pengembangan tahap awal seluas 28 hektare.

Dalam acara pencanangan ini, Presiden Jokowi melakukan antara lain penanaman pohon Tengkawang, menandatangani kayu lilin atau tugu pencanangan Wanagama Nusantara, hingga melakukan pelepasan burung.

Penandatanganan kayu ulin sebagai bentuk dukungan simbolis terhadap pengelolaan hutan yang berkelanjutan di Kalimantan.

Kayu ulin yang merupakan salah satu pohon khas Kalimantan, diharapkan menjadi simbol keberlanjutan dan konservasi di wilayah tersebut.

Turut hadir mendampingi Presiden pada kesempatan tersebut yakni Menteri Sekretaris Negara Pratikno, Menteri Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan Siti Nurbaya Bakar, Menteri Perhubungan Budi Karya Sumadi, Menteri Pekerjaan Umum dan Perumahan Rakyat Basuki Hadimuljono.

Selain itu juga tampak Wakil Menteri Agraria dan Tata Ruang/Wakil Kepala Badan Pertanahan Nasional (ATR/BPN) Raja Juli Antoni, Panglima TNI Jenderal TNI Agus Subiyanto dan Kapolri Jenderal Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, serta civitas akademika UGM.
