AS akan Menutup Permanen Dermaga Bantuan di Gaza

SEAToday.com, Washinton - Sejumlah pejabat Amerika Serikat (AS), Rabu (10/7) menyatakan bahwa dermaga yang dibangun oleh militer AS untuk menyalurkan bantuan kemanusiaan lewat jalur laut ke Gaza akan dibongkar secara permanen dalam beberapa hari ke depan.
Dermaga apung tersebut dipasang kembali di Gaza pada hari Rabu setelah baru-baru ini dipindahkan ke pelabuhan Ashdod di Israel akibat cuaca buruk. Tujuannya saat ini adalah untuk mengirimkan bantuan kemanusiaan yang telah terkumpul di Siprus sebelum akhirnya dibongkar.
Efektivitas dermaga tersebut telah terhambat oleh cuaca buruk dan masalah keamanan pekerja kemanusiaan yang mendistribusikan bantuan. Secara keseluruhan, dermaga ini telah direlokasi ke Israel sebanyak tiga kali dan hanya beroperasi selama 23 hari dari 53 hari dermaga ini berlabuh.
Sebanyak 8.800 metrik ton bantuan telah diturunkan lewat dermaga ini, atau setara dengan satu hari pengiriman stok sebelum konflik dimulai.
