Dukung Percepatan Infrastruktur IKN, BMKG Gelar Operasi Modifikasi Cuaca

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi, dan Geofisika (BMKG) melakukan Operasi Modifikasi Cuaca (OMC) di wilayah Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN), Kalimantan Timur untuk menunjang percepatan pembangunan infrastruktur di Nusantara.
Kepala BMKG Dwikorita Karnawati, Rabu (19/6) menjelaskan, operasi ini dilakukan untuk mengurangi intensitas hujan di wilayah pembangunan infrastruktur IKN seperti Bandar Udara VVIP IKN dan jalan tol.
BMKG menganalisis wilayah Kalimantan Timur khususnya IKN, diprediksi hujan kategori menengah pada Juni 2024. Curah hujan bulanan wilayah tersebut berkisar antara 200 sampai 300 millimeter. Dwikorita mengatakan, modifikasi cuaca ini bertujuan untuk memecah awan agar meminimalisir terjadinya hujan antara 13-23 Juni.
Lebih lanjut, Plt. Deputi Bidang Modifikasi Cuaca BMKG Tri Handoko Seto mengaku telah melakukan total enam hari kegiatan OMC. Dalam kurun waktu tersebut telah dilaksanakan sepuluh sorti penerbangan penyemaian awan dengan total 21 jam 25 menit penerbangan.
