Ketua KPU: WNI yang Menunaikan Ibadah Umrah pada 14 Februari Tidak Bisa Mencoblos

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Ketua Komisi Pemilihan Umum (KPU), Hasyim Asy'ari menegaskan bahwa Warga Negara Indonesia (WNI) yang sedang menjalani ibadah umrah di Arab Saudi pada 14 Februari tidak dapat menyalurkan suaranya untuk pemilihan umum.
Hal ini dikarenakan jadwal pemungutan suara di Arab Saudi berlangsung lebih awal, yaitu 9 Februari. Selain itu, Panitia Pemilihan Luar Negeri (PPLN) Jeddah hanya menyediakan surat suara sesuai dengan jumlah WNI yang terdaftar di Daftar Pemilih Tetap Luar Negeri (DPTLN) Arab Saudi.
Berdasarkan data yang masuk, jumlah WNI dalam DPTLN di Arab Saudi berjumlah 54.479 orang. KPU juga menyiapkan surat suara cadangan, namun hanya tersedia dua persen dari jumlah pemilih dalam DPTLN untuk WNI yang belum terdaftar.
