Korban Tewas Gempa Jepang Bertambah Menjadi 161 Orang dengan 103 Orang Hilang

SEAToday.com, Ishikawa - Jumlah korban tewas akibat gempa bumi berkekuatan 7,5 skala Richter di Jepang yang terjadi pada 1 Januari lalu mencapai 161 orang, sebut pihak berwenang pada Senin (8/1).
Jumlah orang yang hilang turun menjadi 103 orang dari 195 orang. Namun upaya penyelamatan masih terhambat karena lebatnya hujan dan salju di wilayah tersebut. Ribuan petugas penyelamat telah dikerahkan dari seluruh Jepang, namun pekerjaan mereka dipersulit oleh jalan-jalan yang terputus akibat gempa dan sekitar 1.000 titik longsor.
Akibat gempa, setidaknya 2.000 orang terputus aksesnya karena rusaknya jalan. Ribuan lainnya tidak memiliki listrik atau tinggal di tempat penampungan darurat. Kementerian pertahanan pada Minggu mengatakan 6.000 pasukan telah dikirim untuk misi bantuan, termasuk membagikan pasokan makanan, air, dan selimut bagi mereka yang harus mengungsi.
