SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The 79th Anniversary of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) falls on Saturday, (10/5/2024). Here is a list of military equipment displayed at the peak of the celebration at the National Monument (Monas) in Jakarta.

According to Antara, the TNI is showcasing more than 1,000 pieces of main weapon systems from its three branches: the Army, Navy, and Air Force during today’s parade. The TNI had also conducted a rehearsal for several days prior to the event.

In the commemoration of the TNI's 79th Anniversary at Monas, around 100,000 TNI personnel are deployed to participate in the ceremony as marching troops, equipment operators, demonstration participants, troops in formation, and security personnel.

For the military equipment parade, 1,059 pieces of equipment from the three branches have been mobilized by the TNI for the ceremony. These pieces of equipment, as stated by the Head of TNI Information Center, Major General TNI Hariyanto, include tactical vehicles, combat vehicles, amphibious tanks, troop transport trucks, and weapon launch systems.

During the peak celebration of the 79th Anniversary of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) at Monas, a total of 100,000 soldiers were deployed to participate as ceremonial troops, military equipment operators, demonstration participants, troop parade units, and security officers.

The Indonesian Army (TNI AD) will showcase the strength of 56,900 soldiers from various units across Java during the 79th TNI Anniversary parade at the National Monument (Monas). Of this number, 1,918 troops will participate in the defile, consisting of 204 soldiers from the Army Women's Corps (Kowad), 206 from the Army Military Police (Pomad), 504 from the Special Forces Command (Kopassus), 502 from the Army Strategic Reserve Command (Kostrad), and 502 from the Jakarta Military Command (Kodam Jaya). This demonstration will highlight the readiness and combat capabilities of the TNI AD in safeguarding the nation's land sovereignty.

The Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) will deploy 4,500 personnel from various units along with combat equipment, particularly from the Marine Corps. The Chief of Naval Staff (KSAL) Admiral Muhammad Ali emphasized that this parade is not merely a ceremony, but a stage to demonstrate to the nation and the world the Navy's readiness in protecting and defending the country's sovereignty. This demonstration will also serve as an opportunity for the TNI AL to show their support for the new administration.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) will mobilize 4,851 personnel, including members from the Air Force Military Police (Pomau), Air Force Women's Corps (Wara), air crew, special forces from the Rapid Reaction Force Command (Kopasgat), and the Swa Bhuwana Paksa troops.

The Air Force will also showcase 181 air defense assets, comprising 148 from the Air Force, 15 from the Navy, and 18 from the Army. These aircraft will perform a series of aerobatic displays over Monas, exhibiting the operational capabilities and readiness of the TNI AU in guarding Indonesia's airspace.
