WHO Luncurkan Rencana Strategis Global untuk Hadapi Mpox
SEAToday.com, Jenewa - Organisasi Kesehatan Dunia (WHO) meluncurkan Rencana Mitigasi dan Respons Strategis global untuk mengatasi wabah cacar monyet (mpox), Senin (26/8).
Rencana tersebut dikatakan untuk menghentikan penularan mpox antar manusia melalui upaya global, regional, dan nasional yang terkoordinasi. Rencana ini mencakup periode enam bulan dari September 2024 hingga Februari 2025, dengan anggaran sebesar 135 juta dolar AS (sekitar 2 triliun rupiah). Strategi ini berfokus pada penerapan strategi pengawasan, pencegahan, kesiapan, dan respons yang komprehensif serta mendorong penelitian dan akses yang adil terhadap penanggulangan medis seperti vaksin.
Upaya vaksinasi strategis akan berfokus pada individu yang berisiko paling tinggi untuk memutus rantai penularan.
Rencana ini sedang menunggu masukan dari negara-negara anggota, dan permohonan pendanaan atas kebutuhan yang diperlukan akan diluncurkan “segera”.
