Thai Songkran Listed as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage

It marks Thailand's fourth UNESCO intangible cultural heritage, following the Khon mask dance, Thai massage, and Nora dance performance.
The Ministry of Culture organized various celebratory activities at Bangkok City Hall on Thursday (12/7), presided over by Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin.
Songkran is a festival that commemorates the Thai New Year, observed nationwide from April 13-15 each year. Activities include offering alms to monks, pouring water over the palms of revered elders, cultural performances, and often lively water-splashing activities.
