SEAToday.com, Homeyo - Habema Operational Command comprising the Indonesian army and national police and the Nanggala Damai Cartenz Task Force carried out an operation against the armed criminal group in Homeyo District, Friday (5/4).

"The operation against the armed criminal group at Homeyo District was an effort to establish security and support the Papua development acceleration," said Regional Defense Joint Command III Head, Lieutenant General Richard T. H. Tampubolon, after the operation was carried out.

Official release stated, the operation was carried out after the armed criminal group attacked the Homeyo Sector Police, killing Alexsander Parapak (20).

Moreover, the armed criminal group set the Inpres Pogapa Elementary School building on fire, Wednesday (5/1), and attempted to attack 1705-05/Homeyo Military Subdistrict Command, Thursday (5/2).

Due to the armed attack and fire, the nearby community cannot carry out their daily activities.

However, the joint security forces managed to carry out the operation against the attacks. Because of the operation, the condition and safety of Homeyo District becomes more stable and less prone of attacks from the armed criminal group.
