SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Tren kasus Covid-19 meningkat di 21 provinsi dalam kurun beberapa pekan terakhir. Demikian diungkap laporan Kementerian Kesehatan (Kemenkes) terkait situasi Covid-19 di Indonesia.
Dilansir dari Antara mengutip laman Infeksi Emerging Kemenkes RI, provinsi yang mengalami tren peningkatan kasus yaitu Banten, Yogyakarta, DKI Jakarta, Jawa Barat, Jawa Tengah, Jawa Timur, Kalimantan Barat, Kalimantan Tengah, Kalimantan Timur, dan Kalimantan Utara.
Lebih lanjut, ada pula Kepulauan Riau, Lampung, NTT, Papua Barat, Riau, Sulawesi Barat, Sulawesi Selatan, Sulawesi Tengah, Sulawesi Tenggara, Sumatera Selatan, dan Sumatera Utara.
Per Kamis (14/12/2023), kasus Covid-19 terkonfirmasi mencapai 359 kasus dengan 79 dinyatakan sembuh. Total kasus aktif sendiri mencapai 1.449 kasus.
“Kasus Covid-19 kali ini didominasi oleh sub-varian EG.5 yang merupakan turunan dari varian Omicron dan masuk kategori VAriants of Interest (VoI) atau varian yang memiliki mutasi genetik yang diprediksi dapat memengaruhi karakteristik klinis virus,” kata Kepala Biro Komunikasi dan Pelayanan Publik Kemenkes RI Siti Nadia Tarmizi.
