SEAToday.com, Gaza - The Palestinian death toll from the humanitarian crisis in Gaza has surpassed 25,000 on Sunday (1/21).
According to the Gazan Health Ministry Spokesperson Ashraf al-Qudra, 178 people had been killed in the last 24 hours, making it one of the deadliest days since the escalation of the crisis on October 7. The number amounted to the total death toll of 25,105 people in which most were women and children, with 62,681 others wounded. Overall casualties are thought to be higher because many remain buried under the rubble.
Meanwhile, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected the proposal by Hamas to end the war and release the Israeli captives. Israel's end of the deal would be for the withdrawal of Israeli forces, releasing prisoners and accepting the group’s governance of Gaza. He said that the soldiers would have “fallen in vain” if he accepted those terms to end the war.
